Just got sent this email:
"After Thursday's sad events this was sent to me and I think it's a really simple but effective idea for those with mobile phones. Please pass onto anyone you feel may also benefit from this idea.
East Anglian Ambulance Service have launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign with the support of Falklands war hero Simon Weston and in association with Vodafone's annual life savers award.
The idea is that you store the word "ICE" in your mobile phone address book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency". In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them."
What a great and simple idea, I hope it is being taken up nationally.
I went for an interview on Tuesday for a job in a shop and they basically offered me it there and then, saying they would ring today to let me know my shifts. They did ring, but to tell me that they had given it somebody else instead! I have a feeling that the assistant manager (who was interviewing me, as the actual manager had a meeting) shouldn't have given it to me straight away, but I am still annoyed.
I guess it's because I don't have any shop experience (only waitressing) and I'm going to Orkney, and they found someone better. Good job I hadn't cancelled any plans, thinking that I would be working. The worst thing is that when she called, I was too sleepy to take them to task over it and and just said "OK yeah whatever"- I should have been a bit more challenging really.

I've always wanted to go to Orkney or Shetland. So jealous...
